My in laws sent me a picture of the eggs they got from their flock today. We are totally stumped as to which chicken laid this greenish egg! I bought and raised their chickens until they were 10 weeks old.
They have 3 Cali Whites, an EE who lays the green blue egg, a RIR rooster, lastly they should have 2 BOs however one is solid white. She is a touch smaller than a traditional BO, but has all the other characteristics and looked just like a BO until she got her feathers. I believe she may be the culprit but I have no clue what she could be to be so white yet lay a green egg?? She was purchased from my local feed store who orders from Ideal of that helps.

Could you post pictures of the possible culprits?
I’ll try, I only have pictures of when they were chicks. We had 12 in all. My in laws took 8, 1 turned out to be a Roo and they lost another during winter. This was then at 6 or 7 weeks old. The pure white in the front is the one I think is the culprit.

I asked my in laws for a more recent picture. I’ll post when I get it.

Here they all are this evening. The white one in the front is the one that was supposed to be a BO. But I have no clue where the green egg could come from.

perhaps it’s still from the EE, just a different shade. :) Also the “white BO” looks like a leghorn!

The white on in the front, below the buff one: probably an Easter Egger. I think I see a pea comb and dark (willow or slate) feet, both of which are common traits in Easter Eggers.

She definitely has greenish grey legs. But her comb isn’t quite a pea comb, at least not how I’d associate it from my EEs pea combs. She is just such a mystery! But I agree she may be an EE. My 2 EEs are white and black. Theirs is black and gold.

It's hard to see in the photo, so I'm not quite sure. Not all pea combs look alike, so it could be one of the other versions. Or she could have a different comb type and I'm just mixed up.

If she lays green eggs, then she is definitely an Easter Egger.

If she does not lay green eggs, then she is a mystery, and so is whatever other hen did lay the green eggs.
