Who Loves Leghorns!!! Or American Buff Orpingfluffs!

I like my Buff Orpington named basketball. A very friendly little girl.

I definitely like my leghorn more than she likes me. I would say I respect the noble leghorn for eating a little and laying a lot! I have one hen and two pullets about 6 weeks old.
This is Pearl

I have nothing against your American Orpington. No, I like them.
But English Orps are another thing. They should be a completely different breed.

Pancakes and waffles are made of the same batter, more or less.
But everyone prefers waffles, of course.

Leghorns are croissants. Not everyone's cup of tea, but I can't imagine a world where croissants don't exist. They're very distinctive.

Did I just go and make this food related again?

Couldn’t have said it better😁. Don’t get me wrong they really are egg laying machines but I haven’t had a leghorn who wasn’t a drama queen.
I got mine specifically for breeding (they are being raised with 3 RIR cockerels so I can make my own hybrid red sex links (ISA browns, I believe)? So I don’t necessarily need them to love me, but ***damn, chill out! My other chicks are usually fighting for my attention and for cuddles at this age.... my 8 week old BSLs LOVE me, just had a great cuddle sess this morning with a few of them. But then again, this is my first experience with any type of non hybrid bird (except for an array of exotic bantams and a RIW and a White rock - whom I also hate. She’s a nasty biooootch and I’m thinking about crock potting her).
Sorry, not usually this grumpy but I’ve had a hell of a morning.

Lol, love it.

I love Buff Orpingtons. I don't have any, but I do have a hybrid, and I've met my friend's.
I do have five Leghorns, a white, a single-comb brown, a rose-comb brown, a red, and a silver.
The white and the RC brown are the flightiest birds in my mixed flock. However, my silver loves to be hand-fed, my SC brown flies on my head especially when I don't want her there, and my red is literally the friendliest of all of them.
I think part of the temperament is whether they're a commercial color only bred for eggs, or a carefully bred heritage color.
So while one of my favorite breeds is Buff Orpington, and I never thought I would be saying this, I'm going to have to go with Leghorns. They come in such lovely colors, and I haven't even mentioned the egg production.

I have her with two other little chicks (her an EE and a BO all 5 weeks). All of them were super scared of me for the longest time and one day I gave all of them a bath they were looking a lil ya know especially miss drama queen. I gave my BO a bath first she clapped at first and the stopped and later in my hand and stayed there while I washed and she didn’t struggle at all, then my EE she flapped at first and jumped out of the little box I grabbed her and then she gave up and let me wash her, NOW it was drama queens turn I grabbed her barely let her toes touch the water and she jumped out of my grasp flew out of the box and then I grabbed her again thinking it would be like my BO and EE but no she didn’t give up she flew out again and slapped her dirty wet wings in my face and so I grabbed her again and had to make sure my hand was around both wings and she gave up FINALLY! After the bath I blow dried all three and gave them mealworms, now the point of this is to show that after the bath and blow drying without hurting them my BO let’s me pet her since she understands after all that I haven’t hurt her my EE lets me pet her also more or less but Drama queen will NOT TOLERATE ME EVEN GETTING MY HAND CLOSE but I guess to each their own huh? Hopefully she re-pays me with lots of eggs😭 (She didn’t have a name until now can you guess what it is? Yes it’s drama queen)
