I am married to a contractor and I don't need him for it

My kids bathroom has been in the works for a few months now and my DH has not found the time to do something with it so I did.....

I took plain ol dry wall mud and had a blast with my 2 yr. old smearing it on the walls - then I took my hand flat and pressed into the mud and pulled back to make a hershey kiss like effect -then I took a clear glitter from WalMart and blew it onto the wet dry wall mud - then I took some seashells from my big collection and embedded them on the wall and I just love it. It looks better than I pictured in my head....I am not finished yet but I was so excited about it that I am gonna share already

This was so fun and easy to do - Very cheap and simple project. I will post pics of my finished work but I will have to make a run to WalMart for more glitter first.

My pics aren't showing the real glittery shimmering effect - It looks so pretty in person but I tried to take good pics - NOT a good photographer

We are going to put old torn down fishing pier boards down the bottom of the wall on the chair railing...whatever you call it.....I can't wait to finish it. I am doing the ceiling too.

very nice! However i hate that bumpily stuff!!! LOL! we have it here at the house and as a kid ive scraped by arms and knees off that evil pointy wall enough to absolutely hate it. Its pretty but pretty unforgiving too lol.

Hmmm I hadn't thought about getting scraped on the peaks but I have already threatened everyone on bumping into the wall and knocking pieces off

It is going to be 31/2 feet off the floor from where the boards will be placed and that one wall that is pictured is really the only one going to be possibly touched/bumped. Hopefully it will work out.....

NGT AGL - I swiped those from my oldest dds collection

She came home from school and said "HEY, those are mine!!" LOL I just used a handfull of the little ones - and I contributed to that collection

she has bizillions of sharks teeth.....But at least she liked it --- I thought it was cool to add them in it though. I have some sand dollars I am going to do on the ceiling.

Where do you all hunt for shark's teeth? We have collected them for years from the Potomac River here in Virginia and Maryland.
