Well there you have it, one more natural predator of hawks. The thought occurred to me that the deer might be rabid, but maybe it just felt like being a hero that day. Maybe if hawks become a problem in my yard, I'll get me one of these

Wow! I guess the deer wants the chickens to be safe while maintaining that very lush lawn.

Distressed rabbit makes a very similar sound to distressed fawn. Attacking deer a doe. Vegetation appears to be June when young fawns would be out. Doe likely had fawn(s) in area.

I have been kicked by deer before and it hurts. I'm surprised the hawk lasted so long.
