Just want to point out that the rooster's "wing dance" is not a sign of aggression, it's an invitation to mate. He's eager!

It certainly can be.the rooster's "wing dance" is not a sign of aggression
Do give us updates on what you did and how it worked out!@NatJ @Folly's place Thank you! I would have never thought of doing it like that, I'm glad I asked! I'm off to rearrange the pens, I'll be back in a few weeks if I run into any hiccups![]()
Thanks, that's good to know. I would certainly be concerned if a cockerel or rooster danced at me, but are you saying it can be a sign of aggression if he's doing it at hens or pullets? It certainly can be.
The only time I was attacked by a cockbird that's exactly what he did.
He was in a coop by himself, he turned sideways dropped his wing tapped his feet and came at me.
IMO, it's a sign of dominance, for mating hens and attacking others. Thanks, that's good to know. I would certainly be concerned if a cockerel or rooster danced at me, but are you saying it can be a sign of aggression if he's doing it at hens or pullets?

Yes, I probably would do that.@NatJ If the rooster and hens are already in the main coop, should I still move them to a temporary pen so the pullets can get used to the main coop? I assume yes, but I thought I would ask!
I've got an update!Keep us posted, it will be fun to see how this all develops!
