A microphone is an excellent idea. When you hear something suspicious, quietly go out there with your slingshot to hit the fence and scare the heck out of her.

A hidden motion detector pointing in the neighbors yard would give some early warning, if they don't have a dog and plants in the yard.

I second the idea of baby monitors. My BF bought two--one for the wood shop and one for the garage. They are cheap, plug in so there are no batteries to buy, and are REALLY sensitive. We can hear the outdoor motion light click on and off. It's the best security system that money can buy, IMO, for someone that is usually home and has outbuildings.

What a rotten situation. I agree baby monitors may help keep an ear out for what the lunatic may do next.
So sorry to hear of your loss, though. :aww
By the by, have you confirmed with your deed that there is no 'easement' right of way for the neighboring property? That could be a sticky situation, so I hope not for your sake

Good luck and keep us posted.
People like you neighbor are just ugly.

You know, this is a great idea. We have a lot of coons & possum in the area. I am totally putting a baby monitor in my coop!
Though with the pig in my yard I haven't seen much of them. However now that I think of it...is my pig in danger??
EEK. It never crossed my mind! I knew the dangers of dogs, but never thought of anything else.
He is about the size of a medium dog right now, about 60lbs and admittedly pretty strong. But he is just 4 months old after all.
Any ideas??

This is so cool, I found a free software online called surveillizcam, it turns your webcam into a surveillance camera. It actually turns on when it detects motion. I am having fun trying to get it set right. If anyone needs it the website is http://www.novosun.com/Download.html the free version seems to work just fine.

No, no problem with easements as you can see in the illustration, they have 15' of road frontage that goes all the way to there property, the owner went to a lawyer yesterday I am sure of it and was told to save his money and put a drive in because he couldn't have been nicer when my dh talked to him this time. Wish his tenant wasn't such a psycho.

Oh, that's a great idea!
Does it record too? What a way to catch her in the act, should she try anything again. (hopefully not!)

Glad to hear about there being no easement!

What brand/model of baby monitor is recommended? I would assume some are better than others.

ivan3, Which monitor are you using that you pick up sounds from 40 yards?
