Let's start with my hens and Pullets

1 Lav Orpington
3 BCM
1 Mauve Orpington
2 Chocolate Orpington 1, I believe is split mottled as she has 3 white "dots" on chest and was more mottled as a chick
1 Black Mottled Orp
1 BBS Wyandotte
1 Buff laced Wyandotte (from Shamrock Farms)
1 buff Wyandotte
1 Black Wyandotte
1 Blue Wyandotte
1 Lav Laced Wyandotte (which see previous thread, its had a rough start and, may just be kept for looks and eggs)

The marans would not be included in the breeding as I just have them for eggs.

I also have a pen of White Chanteclers (have yet to figure out sex on them at 7 weeks)

Now for who to keep

Cockerals

2 Splash Wyandottes (1 will need to be rehomed)
1 Crele Orpington
1 Buff Laced Wyandotte (Shamrock Farms)
And a chance to have a Mauve Laced Wyandotte from a local project pen (which I'm really leaning towards)

Help 😅

Picture of the BL wyandotte because he (Jimmy Buffet) is getting so handsome

What are their temperaments like? I would pick the boy who is the kindest to you and your girls. What are your goals for said cockerel? If there's someone who doesn't contribute to that you can ho ahead and rehome him

I agree!

The problem is, that one in your picture you posted is probably about six months away of you knowing true temperament.

Cockerels go through hormone release and some you may not notice as much as others. A mean one at three or four months old may be a charmer at eight months, and vice versa.
