I read in a book that a white leghorn hen layed 371 eggs in 365 days has anyone else had a hen lay more then one egg a day?

I find those numbers to be...suspiciously optimistic. It is my understanding that chickens typically lay about every 25 hours. More than one egg a day would be very unusual. Nothing is impossible, but I think this to be unlikely.

I had a girl that would occasionally lay more than one egg a day. She was the only bantam EE I had so it was easy to tell who laid 2 tiny green eggs. I didn't happen very often, but it did happen. Those numbers do sound a little exaggerated though.....

oh ya the book was called raising chickens it was from the feed store it was a very long book it also said that the worlds biggest chicken egg was 9 inches long and had 5 yolks
