First egg from the spring lot of Big Girls
Not sure if it was the orp or welsummer - they weren't talking!

Wow that's great. I got my first chicks on April 3rd, I've never had chickens before so i'm not sure when i'll get eggs. You said, spring, when?I have a few different breeds so they will prob be ready different times. Tammy

They were actually teenagers in the spring - we got 3 6day olds and 3 6week olds mid april.

So the ones that have started laying are actually 23weeks old now (chicken math). There was some drama recently tho - construction of the new coop near them:

and the loss of one of their sisters:

im just so happy they are alive - getting along with our flock and making food for us!!
now we just have the "little" ones to integrate and were DONE with the chicken drama (i hope)

Good luck with your new babies
