Hmmm, I am not sure. Could be a double silver gene. It will be interesting to see how they feather out.

Congrats on the hatch!

Thank you Tazcat

I was surely shocked when they hatched...
I too will be curious
I will post pic on this thread as they mature

Congrats! I have no idea how to sex any chicks but they sure are cute!

I am waiting for my very first incubation to hatch. It is day eight! I have 4 white pekin duck eggs that are all fertile and 15 barn yard mix chicken eggs. The chicken eggs are all dark brown and all seem to be fertile. I hope they all make it!

I am so excited.

Good luck to you!

Good luck to you too Davony's chicks...I can truly tell you if you have a passion for the chickens it is really

exciting..the KEY is patience and leave em alone lol... I decided to run a tube to the water valley in my bator thru

the side of the wall of the bator attach a small funnel to the tube and tape the funnel to the wall This is how I add

water..it works great then I dont have to open bator till day 18 when I take the turner out and place the eggs on a

flat egg crate and then I add a wet sponge and put the tube in the sponge and add water as needed to raise the

humidity..it has worked great for 3 hatches and has increased my hatch rate greatly... For a while I would have the

problem that the chicks would develop but not go ahead and hatch and I contributed that to opening the bator to add water.

As my post stated a good hatch from my latest eggs.(one of my best)

Thanks again for your comments and kind words

G O O D L U C K !!!! With your hatch let us know how it goes

Thank you Okiecountrygirl! I am going to try the funnel and tube thing and leave the bator alone. I really have been alot better than I thougtht, I didn't open the bator until day eight to see if they were fertile. I have been tempted to check again but haven't. LOL
Thanks again for the advice and I will use it.
