I am a fairly diligent egg collector, I go in every day, peek about, pick up any eggs I find in the coop etc, because I have a pet rooster (stunning light sussex boy, not quite a year old), and I know helena and helga, my tiny little bantams would hatch a potato if they could (they have actually tried!)....but somehow...and I don't know how...these charming little ladies managed to trick me...

This morning I went up to do the daily egg collect, and there they were, so very proud, sitting in the nesting box with a couple of babies....one little white baby and one blue...I'm assuming one egg is from our light sussex pullet and the other from our araucana pullet, because they look like fullsized babies, not bantams.

I'm just so very confused...HOW did they hide the eggs? WHERE did they hide them? I thought I was doing a great job at keeping the coop egg-free...I mean I'm thrilled about the babies and all, but that was totally unexpected!
