I recently found my first egg, and we thought it was my ISA Sunny. But, once Sunny laid an egg in front of us we realized that her egg was different from the first! I have two ISA Browns, one Plymouth Rock, and one Easter Egger. The speckled egg is unidentified to who laid it. The solid brown was from our ISA, Sunny. We have reason to believe that our Plymouth may have done this. Can you please help me identify who's dunnit? Thank you!

No idea who laid this one!

This belongs to Sunny!

Thank you!

My barred rocks do not lay specked eggs! The only way to know for sure who laid what egg is to watch them! Most folks do not have time for that, we are too busy cooking with the wonderful eggs our girls give us! Good Luck!

I looked into barred rock eggs, and it depends on the chicken when it comes to being speckled or not. Also, I agree with the fact of having to watch them, so I think I'm going to set up a camera to help me watch them when I can't! Thank you for the help!

I've read about people putting dye or something similar (bingo blotter?) around the vents of hens to see who laid what. I've never bothered, but it's an option.

We got eight eggs today and I only know for sure which girls laid three of them. LOL! So don’t feel bad
My favorite EE girl shows me each time she lays an egg. She will walk between me and where she laid her egg with a pleased look on her face like “look what I did”. I was holding our Gold Sexlink when she laid an egg so I know which one belongs to her. LOL! And the Favaucana we adopted lays sage green eggs. The rest are a mystery as we have 2 Silver Laced Wyandottes, 2 Buff Orpingtons, a Black sexlink & 4 more Easter Eggers.
