Possible suspects:

Chocolate silkie-1year- new to the coop

Barred rock- 5 months- has been showing signs of laying

Olive egger-has been laying (brown eggs) but has stopped due to molting. Still molting.

New Hampshire red- 5 months- (I don't think this is hers as she is maturing VERY slowly and is still very small and her comb is still very light. She's shown no interest in nesting boxes)

However, my olive egger always lays in the box and these have been layed in the coop. So I've been leaning towards a new layer or my new silkie girl, even though they are a bit dark. I know the only way to tell is to see it for myself. But just guessing for fun. Here is the egg (on the right) compared to my second year RIR egg (on the left). They're slightly larger then my OEGB eggs.

I guess another possibility could be my silver partridge silkie hen. But...idk. Genetically she should lay a very light cream egg.

I think it's from the Barred Rock.

Silkies can lay brown. Mine lay, white, tinted, tinted with speckles, & creamy brown. Size range is Small, Small medium, Medium, & Extra Large with mine.
I've only got 3 silkie Bantam hens, & 4 Largefowl Silkie hens.

Can you get pictures of your suspect birdies?

Make sure to get face pictures, so the comb growth, can be visible?
Sorry my photos load super slow lol.
Here is Shirley, my new Hampshire red- beside
Star my silver partridge silkie
Coco my chocolate silkie
Behind her is Ash, my olive egger going through a molt.
Beans, my daughter's barred rock.
And a closer view of stars face.
I'm not really sure how old star is but roughly 6-7 months.
