I have one broody hen ( a light sussex bantam) who is currently sat on 8 of her own hopefully fertile eggs. I have 4 other hens and one rooster. The rooster obviously has been mating with them all, but I wanted my broody hen to raise her own chicks so I put her eggs under her.
I thought that one of my hens (a silkie) had stopped laying as she is a little old now...but when I went to look under my broody hen, I suddenly realized that she was sat under eggs which didn't look the same. I stupidly didn't realize this until now because I assumed that the smaller eggs where the light sussex bantam's (because my only other small chicken, the silkie, I thought wasn't laying.) So I put the light sussex's eggs under her.
Here are two of the eggs which don't look the same...
Who's do you think they are the light sussex's or the silkie's???
Thanks for reading and please help, it would be much appreciated!
