Who's over 30

I went back to school at 37 and got my BS in Accounting at 40.

I am 52 now and 1/3 through my Master of Tax.

I'm 45 and have a degree in computers (that I got when I was 30), but would love to go back to school for radiology. My question: how on earth do you afford it?!? We don't make enough to pay for me going back, but too much to receive financial aid. Any suggestions? I'm sure there are more that may want to know the answer to this question as well.

I'm 34 and now that my younger son has started kindergarten, I'm a stay-at-home mom with no kids at home. I'm planning on going back to school in Jan. or next fall to earn a teaching certificate. I haven't decided yet whether to go for elementary or secondary education--my B.S. is in chemistry/genetics, so I would definitely love to teach science!

I would go for secondary - in elementary you are teaching all the subjects - middle school up you could specialize in science.

I went back p/t at 26, and will have my masters next year. For the first 3 years I was doing 1-2 classes a semester as what I needed became available in a night class.

Quiltnchik- The only advice I can give on that is to just file your FAFSA and then go in and talk to your school's financial aid department. There are *so* many financial aid programs- they vary by school, state, educational program, etc...

You may be surprised at what you may be able to get. I know there is a way to even file an exception to the EFC amount on you student aid report if your income is going to be radically different while you're in school. There is really no way to know other then to talk to them and tell them what you said here.

My husband had the same concern and yet his school was able to get him $35K in loans (in only about a week at that). He is now in his last couple months of finishing his second degree.
