Who's the grumpiest chicken in your flock?

That's what I think too! Blame the BF. I let him name her....

Oh men.. They just really don't know how to name chickens properly. My friend Dylan wanted to name one Kylie. I said that will send her right to the bottom of the pecking order. It's way too fufu

ETA: But I let him name one Janet Jackson.

That's what I tried saying about Fluffy!! I told him it was too.... well fluffy. But he stood his ground and stuck with it so I said "Okay but when she decides to turn on us all and destroy the world, you're to blame!"

Greta, my BSL used to be the grumpiest, but she has mellowed. Brenda, a light Brahma, took over, but has since mellowed as well. Lola used to be quite stand-offish, but has gotten more friendly and outgoing.

Wow. I guess the move to my new home has been really good for the flock! I can't really identify "the grumpiest" any more!

Broodies don't count - they recover from their alter ego once the chicks are old enough to meander pretty far from mom.

I think is is probably me

I have one Welsummer hen that bawks and clucks like a foghorn if I even walk into the coop while she is laying her egg. You should hear her if I look at her while she is in there!

My grumpiest is my Serama Roo. He's not really what I'd call aggressive, but he doesn't really like to be cuddled either and will bite if you try. He can be handled just fine and will sit on your arm fine....just no cuddling allowed
