That's sad, I'm sorry for your loss, I lost a RIR hen this morning due to a cat attack.

Out of eight, two are duds, and three has hatched... Hopefully two. One sadly died after pipping...

Well, sadly not all chicks make it, I was pretty attached to her. A very free spirited girl!

@Lacy Duckwing I noticed in your signature that you should only worry about naming your chicks before they hatch! Good one! About that, what are you going to name your new chicks?

They are a type of maran. They tend not to lay as dark as black copper marans, but quite dark also.

Sometimes it can be pretty tricky to identify similar looking breeds, there are so many!

Two is Shiloh II and AnnaBella. I'm hoping to name a rooster Kokadjo, because I was hoping that if I get a puppy, I'll name it that, but I got a adult dog with a name I'm happy with. So now I'm hoping to name a rooster that.
