Whose Egg is This?

Hi there,

My five new pullets just started laying and I noticed an unexpected color in the nest box.

The egg in the middle is a greenish grey. I’m expecting only white and brown. The girls are the following breeds:

- black astrolorp
- barred rock
- buff orpington
- 2 x speckled Sussex

Any idea who might be laying the middle egg?

Looks more like an Easter Egger egg. Do you have pictures if your chickens? Maybe one isn’t the breed you thought it is.

OMG I’m a total idiot. I’ve been wondering why the two speckled Sussex I ordered don’t look anything like speckled Sussex. I thought they were just a weird mix or light variety. They don’t remotely look like Sussex

It didn’t occur to me that the lady gave me the wrong breed. They are Easter eggers!

In my defense I work full time and have twin toddlers. My brain is absolute mush.

You have a Light Brahma, 2 White Leghorns, EEs, Buff Orp, etc.

The two with pea combs are laying the blue/green.

You have a Light Brahma, 2 White Leghorns, EEs, Buff Orp, etc.

The two with pea combs are laying the blue/green.
