So I am new to ducks, or any waterfowl and poultry for that matter. I currently have three muscovies, one hen and two drakes. I have the hen and one drake separate from the other drake. The hen I have is a light brown color and the drake is a chocolate. The drake comes from a line of all chocolates. My other drake, that is separate from the other two, is black, and comes from a mix color flock. The black drake broke into the other ducks pen, and I am not sure if he mated the hen but was only in there for a couple hours at most. Then hen began laying about 4 days after this. I have a home lined up for my chocolate drake, and was planning on keeping 2 hens from this clutch and the hen I already have and breeding them with the black drake, but now I need to verify who the dad is so I don't inbreed. The ducklings have not hatched yet, the hen has a few more days of laying before she will sit so I have time to figure out how to determine who is the dad. Does anyone have any advice? I know the chocolate drake is most likely the dad, but I want to be sure, and need a way to verify this. I will post pictures in comments of the ducks.

Ok, I will. Thank you. I know it isn't that big of a deal if they inbreed, but I would like to avoid it as much as possible. In the long run it is not healthy for the flock of it continues so I would like to get ahead of it now instead of waiting until future generations.
