Why a fan in an incubator?

Looks like the humidity tray or pan is way to big for your size incubator. Humidity is created from the surface area of the water and not the depth of the pan/ container, So go smaller surface area and ditch the rag in the container. You can put a sponge into the pan or container close to its size if you want. I don't use anything in my tray. If you have to use that tray that you have in there, then add object that come up above water level to decrease surface area.I would also run a small tube of 3/8 clear hose through a hole in side or top of the incubator down to the pan, so then you can add water without opening the bator. Also tape the hose maybe to top of incubator and crimp the clear filler end of tubing with a metal office clamp or a small hobby woodworking clamp till filling time. I'm guessing also for this size bator that 60 watts maybe to big for heat source. You also need a reliable thermostat to turn on/off your heat source at the correct settings.
Got my thermostat and heater at Incubator warehouse. didn't want to worry about a bulb going out while at work all day. you will need a couple small air holes. Possible one fresh air hole around 1/4 behind fan and an exhaust hole around 3/8 up near lid or top.

My incubator runs with 39% humidity and 99.3 to 99.6 degrees.
