Why am I getting so many duck eggs with double yolks?

My khaki campbells have been laying since August. I am still getting really HUGE double yolkers, maybe 1-2 a day from my now 4 girls. Why am I still getting so many? I sell their eggs to hatch and eat and they are really messing things up for me! Anyone know why I am getting such a huge ammount of double yolk eggs?

How old are they?

In chickens, I've seen more giant eggs and double yolkers in the older hens.

This might be true with Ducks, waiting to hear from the experts on this.....We've only had ducks since fathers day of this year, so we're in the learning mode.

I am getting a lot of TINY double yolkers. They are so cute! LOL

Inconsistency in size, double yolked eggs, the occasional soft shell are all common in new layers...ducks OR chickens.

I have no idea really, but I would change my feed.

We had several hens who laid a LOT of double yolkers when they were younger. Now we almost never get one. My theory is that when they are young their ovulation is not as well regulated and so there are two ova released rather than one.

But that's just talking through my hat as I haven't bothered to look it up or anything like that. Makes sense though, no?
