i can peel the shell from my turkey eggs without
even boiling it. is this normal or are my eggs just
extra hard?

You mean the insides are that hard? If so, no that isn't normal. Is there any chance that they are frozen?

I assume the reason turkey eggs have a harder shell than chicken eggs is because turkeys are a heck of a lot bigger than chickens are and the eggs need to be stronger to support the weight of the mother turkey. If they had the thickness of a chicken egg, they'd most likely break under the weight of the turkey hen.

I've noticed my chicken eggs have a super tough membrane, too. I chalked it up to free ranging for much of their diet, sunshine, and fresh air.

I am still looking forward to my first turkey eggs. Waiting "eggspectantly."
