We had 6 (now 5) orpington hens, who are 3 years old. This summer, we got barely any eggs; at least one every day, if we were lucky. Is this just their age? They're on layers pellets, and have supplemental grit and crushed eggshells, as well as vegetables and occasionally grain/scratch.

Yes, it is likely their age, might be time to expand your flock :D

Since they aren't laying much, I'd switch to an all flock feed and provide oyster shell on the side, the extra calcium in layer feed may be harmful if they aren't laying much
