I use a private seller and it has a lots of corn, molasses, grain, and they have full access to grass all day. They are also given yogurt quite a bit.Post some pictures. If they’re 5 months old they should be on layer feed. What brand of feed do you use?
My chickens are from Hoover’s hatchery and they definitely aren’t bantam, the chicks were much bigger than bantam chicks, but clearly still day old. When I got them there was no sign of feathers, so they weren’t just old bantams.Where did you get your chicks from? Could they be bantam?
I have a std cuckoo Marans which is the feathers on the legs. She isn’t full grown yet.I feed my birds a meat bird grower/finisher feed. Protein is in the mid to upper 20s. They grow fast and hold weight while they go through growth splurts. I would only feed corn on the side in scratch as a treat and not too much at that. Like I said, it's a treat. My grower feed is done by the local farmer's co-op. Low priced and well produced.
As for size, I see feathered legs on one of the pullets. Could she possibly be a Cochin?
