they are at least 6 months and not showing any signs of laying we have a total of 16 hens and pretty sure 2 roosters these girls are the oldest in the group. We have plenty of room in the coop and have crates for privacy. They only free roam on the weekend because Of pretditors and out schedule. We have had them on starter feed and have switched them to layered feed about 2-3 weeks now. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Glad you could join the flock! Waiting for those first eggs can certainly be a waiting game. At 6 months I would say they are near the laying time but nothing is set in stone with them times can be only a guess. Even hens of the same breed can have varying egg laying start dates.
Wishing you the very best of luck I really hope you have eggs soon.

So glad you could join BYC! Sorry to hear that your hens aren't laying yet. Waiting for eggs can be very hard! It sounds like you're doing everything right. Most chickens start laying between 5 and 7 months old. By the looks of your birds combs, I think that the one in front should start laying very soon. The one in back of the photo might wait a little longer.
