It was a warm day today. Close to 80. I have the bator in my bedroom closet with the door open a little. The temps have been great, 99 - 101. Today is day 15 and I just looked at the temperature. It's between 99.3 and 102.2. Are the temps suddenly higher because of the warm weather or are the chicks generating heat now too? Should I adjust the temp or leave it alone? Lockdown day is coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mine did the same thing only my temps got up to 104 degrees. I did adjust it down as I didn't want it THAT high. Mine is a homemade incubator and the temps always ran between 99 and 103 and it never seemed to affect the hatch. Your temps are normal for my incubator therefore if it were me, I would leave it alone. But again that's my incubator and my hatch. I would think that it was the outdoor temperature that were causing the temps to climb. I couldn't open any windows on hot days as the Wind, not breeze, would cause my temps to drop. Just my thoughts anyway...

Yes, when the room is warmer the bator is warmer. It really does not handle outer air temp changes well - so you will need to monitor it until you learn its quirks (I know I did).

On the really warm days, I keep the closet door open and might have to just touch the temp control just a tad down - but remember to start monitoring when the sun goes down and the room cools again - you might have to adjust again.

It can drive a sane person batty

Right around day 14 is when I have temperature spikes because the chicks start generating their own heat. But a warm day will do that too. So it could have been either.

I wouldnt adjust yet but I would keep a close eye any hotter and I would adjust down just a tad.

When I woke up this morning the temp was up to 102.4 so I've lowered it a tad. I'm glad to be able to adjust now BEFORE lockdown!
