Why are people so cruel

If you have no fence to protect them, they are vulnerable to what happens in a road and that would be cars driving on it. I am sorry you lost your bird, however, you bear at minimum partial responsibility for not offering them the protection of a fence.

There are many articles to be found about people dying in car accidents avoiding animals. Head on collisions, hitting trees, etc. including one where a jogger was hit and killed when a driver avoided a dog. Guineas, chickens, cats, dogs are hard to control if allowed to run free but are ultimately the responsibility of the owner. That said, I am sorry you lost a pet.

I understand your pain right now, but there is no reason for you not to keep your animals on your property. Your bird could have been the death of a human or severely damaged their property.

Well, a number of us have been saying, that you can't tell for sure if the person was being cruel, oblivious, or actually trying to dodge one of your animals but hit it anyway.

The cruel one may be the one letting them run in the street.

It's not nasty, we're a bunch of soft-hearted animal lovers here as you can tell. It's the truth.

I've asked a moderator to close this thread. You all don't know the circumstances, traffic or anything. I tried to explain the situation and you try to make me out to be an idiot that knows nothing and doesn't care about my animals. That will be the last thread I start trying to get some conversation from "fellow members".

I also know there's a risk in letting pets roam.
