Hey folks. So last week I found an egg which was clearly laid off of the roosting post that was the make and texture of picture 2 in this post. Yesterday there was another laid off the post— picture 2. Today picture 1 was laid on the coop floor. The girls are a little over 5 months and I’m not sure everyone is laying yet. We have 10 so it’s hard to keep up. We have 7 ISAs and 3 barred rocks. Is there anything I need to be doing? Concern? Will this run it’s course since they’re new? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Also. They have access to oyster shell and their feed is Purina layena oyster strong crumbles. They do not get treats often. I do get roughly 5-7 normal eggs daily so far.

Normal hiccup of the reproductive system working things out in gals that are just coming into or exiting lay for the season... as LONG as you know the nutritional needs are being met and not diminished by treats... sounds like you've got that covered. Since they aren't good and solid probably not recognized as an egg and expelled in the same manner as poo... anywhere.

So I wouldn't worry. :)

Thank you so much for you help :D
