Why are the hens in the nesting box so long?

Ok, I have 6 hens, (3 Barred Rock, 2 RIR, 1 BO). They have been laying for about 3-4 weeks now. When they go into the nesting box to lay, it takes them forever in there, is this normal? The BO has been in there today almost an hour and still no egg. Suggestions please!

Laying eggs can take from a few minutes to a few hours. While it may seem like they're in the nest for an unusually long amount of time, your hens are probably acting normal.
