Why arent my Delawares laying?

ive had them since they were chicks, never fed them any eggs. i have seen no remains of shells, yoke, egg white, or anything!

It sure sounds like a preditor! Snakes eat whole eggs and are very good at it. Some times they will get a whole nest of eggs. Do you check the nest really often? Do they sing the egg song.? I sure hope you find out soon. Something is getting them I bet.Gloria Jean

i only check for eggs once a day now, if that. i dont ever expect any. there is one in the nest now, ill see if its there tomorrow. my snake did recently escape.....hmmm......

not to mention all the others that could be around......i hope thats what it is, because at least then theres nothing wrong with my hens and ill know what im dealing with

i should see if i can get my bf to let me use his trail cam and aim it right at the nest lol


eta: oooo maybe ill put a bunch of store bought eggs in there and see if they disappear

i feel like a spy!

get a snake repellent...
and see if the egg in there disappears...
and maybe get some store bought eggs in there

It should be 16%. I feed the same ration.
