Why aren't my hens laying?

I have 5 hens, 2 are too old to lay, the other 3 are roughly two years old. I have a timed light that goes on around 2AM to make sure they get plenty of light. They quit laying in early December. I noticed they seemed to be molting so I turned the light off until last week and now have it back on. Still no eggs.

Does anybody no why they would all quit laying at the same time? Even if it is age related (meaning the person who sold them to me lied about their age, I can't imagine that they would all quit at the exact same time.

Any help would be appreciated.

Mine stopped laying this year around November. Then I put a light on from 4:30 AM to 5:00 PM and that did the trick in about 2 weeks. It has been so cold and dark here this winter that I decided leave the light on during the day because my chickens were spending so much time in the coop. Normal years I only had it on from 4:30 AM to 7:30 AM and that worked fine! Also they may need more protein because they are growing feathers if they just finished molting. I feed sunflower seeds in the winter with scratch grains for extra protein.

All mine stopped laying in November and then all of sudden they all started up again! Never added a light, besides this week of the weather being mild it's been cold and a snowy here! So weird! Hope they start laying for you!!
