Hello, all. Second time posting this inquiry, but this time with more information in hopes to get some additional advice.
I have three 22 weeks old silkies, two hens and one rooster. A few weeks ago, one of the hens, Vondi, started seeming unbalanced and progressively got worse. She is now unable to walk. She never lost feeling of her legs, just the ability to use them correctly. she has progressively seemed more strong when doing range of motion exercises. She tries to balance herself by putting her wings out. Often vocalizes due to stress of not being able to function appropriately. She is now keeping her toes curled on her right leg. Initially she would hold her neck out to the side in an abnormal position, which has since resolved. I made her a cart to support her

I will list treatments, testing, etc. below.

Testing:
Mareks Disease Virus PCR negative.

When initially diagnosed:
Meloxicam due to fever (resolved after a few days).
Baytril for ten days.
Vitamins- 25mcg selenium, 400UI vitamin e, 1/4 tab vitamin b complex. Rooster booster in moistened food.
Saline with b12 complex- 30ml once a day.

Now:
Vitamins- 1/4 tab vitamin b complex with rooster booster in moistened food. Added oyster shell for calcium.

I am getting to the point where all of these treatments are not providing as much improvement as I would like to see. When on the ground, she either falls to her side or has her legs stretched out in front of her. I know if it is a vitamin deficiency it takes a long time to fully resolve, but it is starting to seem like it never will. Should i keep trying as is, adjust treatments, or consider euthanasia? TIA.

Are you aware that there is another avian virus similar to Marek's that produces similar symptoms? So, getting a negative test for Marek's doesn't rule out lymphoid leucosis which causes tumors on joints and organs and causes inflammation of nerve endings as does Marek's.

I would suggest getting testing done for Avian Leukosis Virus (ALV) and Reticuloendotheliosis, just in case, because they can mimic the signs and symptoms of Marek’s Disease.

Thanks for suggestion. Will likely not do any further testing since current treatments are not offering any improvement. Live in VA and had to spend $95 for Mareks sample to be overnighted to Texas!

Unfortunately, will likely take her to work for humane euthanasia some time this week. Very upsetting because she is such a sweet girl. Was just hoping for some insight in treatments, but I have a feeling nothing will help!
