Why can't I go to sleep?!?!?!?

Well, I had a big cup of Hot Cocoa and I am still awake and it's 2:08 a.m.

It's okay, you can just stay up with the rest of us. We'll keep you company. I'm just a night owl. I like to stay up all night and sleep all day, the only problem is they won't let me sleep all day, so I am exhausted the next day.

I can't sleep either, unless I take Tylenol Pm or Benadryl.

Well, I have to be up by 7 a.m. to water and feed our birds. Then as posted before there are a couple people coming to pick up some ducks.

There is to much to do tomorrow for me to be this way and why now????? If I take a benadryl I might not wake up until noon!!!!
 
I have this problem often as well. My brain just won't shut up. Especially if I have fun projects to work on or if I'm stressed about something.

My recommendation is to crack open a window, cool air helps signal your body that it's time to go to sleep. Cuddle under some blankets with a flashlight or a book light and read a book or a magazine for a bit. Turn off your compie, it will wind you up tighter. It's just too bright and we BYC folk are a pretty exciting bunch. I'm getting ready to ban myself from taking my laptop into my room at night because it's just not helping my insomnia any.

And yes, if I took half of a benadryl or a smidge of tylenol pm I would be conked out for much of the next day.

Sometimes for me just getting a pillow and blanket and laying on the couch puts me out. If I'm tossing and turning in bed.. this does the trick for some reason.

Cocoa isnt good as chocolate has caffeine, next time opt for herbal tea. A warm shower also sometimes works.

Good luck! I've been struggling with this too a lot lately.

Well, I ended up aetting my alarm clock for 7:30 a.m. and as soon as it went off I was up. For those that I was chatting with last night, or early this morning

, I finally dosed off womewhere around 2:30 to 3:00 a.m. I did toss and turn, but not much.

Dont' forget to turn your clocks back tonight....Oh no for the first time in my life I may be able to do that at 2 a.m.

One thing I'd recommend is never drinking a caffeine drink after noon during the day. Have you tried some of the herbal or supplemental sleep products? I can't think of the names; one of them is Melatonin. Also, if I am exercising, I tend to sleep better.
