Why culling isn't always a bad thing

You should try to consider your daughter more seriously.
Denying your animals vet attention is not responsible or acceptable to a farmer.
When you find a vet that isn't outrageously expensive to see a bird and actually knows what theyre doing with a bird within an hour of my address, then let me know

This. No vet in my area even sees chickens, nearest one is several towns over and that is the case for very many people, so if something goes wrong and a bird needs medical treatment one is pretty much on their own. And unfortunately some of the vets that supposedly see chickens clearly don't know much about them. I've heard stories from people who got shockingly bad advice from so called chicken vets

That said, if one has a good vet that sees chickens and they are able and willing to take their birds to them, great! Just be aware that some of us don't have much of a choice but to be their own vet for one reason or another
