Having problems with some of my chickens not wanting to stay in the coop. Had an incident last week with a possum who had made a home in the coop and gave them problems. Since then the possum has been dealt with. Half will roost in the coop and the other half won't. I tried locking them in the coop for a few days to re affirm that home is the coop but it didn't help. Any ideas?

Half your chickens are convinced the possum is still there. They're like some people who insist on believing something that isn't true. No matter what you do, nothing will convince them.

All you can do is gather up the ones who refuse to roost in the coop and put them inside at night until they become accustomed to being safe in the coop again.

Now that you know what a pain it is when chickens get traumatized with fear that they aren't safe in their coop, you will have made sure that nothing can get into their coop again.
