Why did my duckling die?

I had a maybe week-old, wild mallard duckling that was dropped off yesterday at our house after being found on one of the busiest streets in my area. It had been abandoned and looked perfectly healthy until I noticed that it would constantly fall on it's back and wouldn't be able to flip back up. I also saw that it had extremely bright green, runny poop. I hadn't done any research at the time but I was led to believe that it had toxoplasmosis. It died this afternoon after trying to snap its head back multiple times. We think it might've been having a seizure but do not know for sure. It was definitely more violent than a simple wry neck, and it actively tried to flip itself upside down. It died after about 5 minutes of this and we're just trying to figure out what happened. Does anybody know what happened.

Really difficult to say, because it could have been an injury, genetic problem, or nutrition. Any lack of food for a duckling can cause vitamin deficiencies. See this link for a Merck list:

We can't always solve all of a duckling's problems, but you gave him a good chance to live, if he could. I thank you for that!
