why did she die

I just got new chicks the next morning half an hour after I woke up, when I checked on them, one had died but I’m not sure how it happened they had food and water they weren’t under the heat lamp or huddled up and they weren’t away from the heat lamp so I’m not sure why she died:idunno
I have heard of birth defects that are impossible to see from the outside. The cost of sending in the body to have it analyzed is too expensive for me to send mine in when I have a chick die. It breaks my heart every time. :hit

That's very unfortunate. Sometimes a chick dies for no apparent reason, sadly enough. I too lost a chick 2 days after it had hatched successfully. It LOOKED healthy and perfect in every way, but yet all the sudden it had just died on me for no apparent reason. It too had everything it needed, there's nothing I could have done better. The other chicks did just fine and all grew into healthy ducks.

Sorry this happened to you, and it's one negative side of raising live stock: it sometimes comes with premature death, no matter how well they are taken care of.

Good morning. As previously stated it's the crap side of chick raising. I have had chicks die the day after I get them to having a hatchery chick die a week after having them. What goes on in those tiny bodies we can't see and the fact they can't exactly express how they feel makes it hard. Just don't beat yourself up over what it did/didn't have, what you coulda/shoulda/woulda done better. It's part of the experience. Very sorry and best of luck with your remaining babies!
