Why did she die?

My six-year old Black Star died this morning. She was laying eggs this spring, went broody, and I haven't seen eggs since. I found her this morning on a perch with her wing hanging down. I tucked her wing back under her. I went out to check on an hour later, and she was dead with her head under the feeder. When my husband picked her up, yellow liquid came out of her back end. Does this sound like she was egg bound, or do I have the dreaded Marek's? We introduced four pullets to the flock ab
