Why did the chicken cross the road?

Why DID the chicken cross the road? And was it a hen, chick, or roo?

I'd like to know, too. Why did one of my polish chicks run under my privacy fence, across a heavily trafficked street, and under some random neighbor's privacy fence into their backyard this afternoon while I was trying to return it to the brooder? Thankfully, a nice lady was home and not only led me through her house to her backyard, but helped me corner the little turd.

To get to the other side of course. I think it was a roo.

I think it was a hen. It crossed the road because it saw a cute roo on the other side
