I love my birds. Just hanging out with them in the garden and coop is so relaxing. I can't tell you the number of times I've pulled a chair on in with them and nodded off!

Then once I had a chicken who desperately needed a bath. Afterwards I wrapped her up in a towel and sat down on the sofa with her. We both ended up nodding off for a couple of hours. My girlfriend, who is a big fan of the movie "Dances With Wolves", got such a kick out of it and told me that my new "Indian" name must be "Naps With Chickens". (Definately a joke since I don't have a drop of Native American blood in me. Lots of Irish, German and English though...) I thought it was funny as well as true, so that's what I chose.

Now if I could only figure out a better photo to post, I'd be happy!

I think hubby picked it out. It's our name and we have chickens.

Not very creative, but it works. If we ever move to larger property, we'll need to chance it to Barker Ranch.

Friends have come to visit and frequently comment on how "HAPPY our HENS are" as we give them too many treats and carry them around like babies!

Mine is my nickname. Seriously, it is! I can't help it that the word coop just happens to be in it!

I actually had the nickname before I had chickens if you can believe that. Seriously, I did!
