I live on a river in SE FL. Our Muscovies are wild but we get to know them. We had one lay her eggs in bushes in front of my apt. We made sure she had water, but she would fly out at least twice daily. She sat on that nest for 65 days & then abandoned it. Do you have any idea what could have happened, we are very sad not to have cute little ducklings.
I know it takes 35 days incubation, but just thought each additional day was another duckling.
Now there is a terrible smell coming from the nest but there are no eggs. How can I get rid of the smell?
