Pretty great!! Thank you for sending the link. So with your eggs were they just runny yolk with no veins?

I found that lower humidity... like 25 to 35 was best for incubation.I'm incubating French Copper Maran eggs right now. Using a few different incubators, a brand new Harris Farm 22 egg incubator and a Farm Innovator for the rest of my eggs. I will be moving them over to to the R-com to finish incubating & hatching since it will control the temp & humidity better than the Farm Innovator. Anyone else who incubates & hatches Maran eggs what is the ideal temp & humidity for hatching? I heard 50% humidity during the first 18 days & 65% last couple 3 days til hatch. We've got snow & it's been difficult to keep the humidity up @40%.
Thanks! I don't feel so bad that wasn't able to keep the humidity up. Hope they make it, I'm working the last day they are due. So I hope to come home to some chicks! I read where some people sand the top of the egg at lockdown to give them an easier time of getting out? Any truth to this? Does it work for a better hatch rate? I take it their shells are harder than the average egg. I did notice the eggs I took out of the Farm Innovator incubator are more porous - really tough time keeping humidity up in this incubator. I could not see thru them when candled at Day 1. Day 10 candled and I could see through the eggs and see the chick (they were #6-7 for darkness) and I could really see the infertile ones - they lit up like an Amber light. Moved them over to my R-com for better humidity & temp control. The darkest eggs are in the new Harris Farm 22 incubator. The eggs fit perfect! Hoping for an excellent hatch!I found that lower humidity... like 25 to 35 was best for incubation.

I'd also be worried about either breaking the eggs, or introducing bacteria.I never did that.... I never noticed an issue with egg shell hardness![]()
Same here.I'd also be worried about either breaking the eggs, or introducing bacteria.
That's fantastic! So 5 total, or did any more hatch today? How many did you set? I'm thinking your supplier was better this time around.Great news! Today is day 22 and I had 2 hatch yesterday and 3 today! HOPEFULLY there will be one hen in this 5!!
