I've heard that if something eats a slug it numbs that somethings mouth. I was wondering why chickens eat slugs and if this happens to them too.

Why do chickens eat slugs?
Because they can't get shrimp.![]()
Seriously though, our's will eat anything that doesn't try and eat them first. Slugs included.
The only thing I've never seen our chickens eat are those little tiny bugs that live in damp places under old wood and stuff, not sure what they are called, we always just called them roly-polies. (They are light grey and look like an armadillo sorta)
They turn their beaks up at those.
