Why do chickens peck teeth?

I've always been curious as to why a chicken will peck at my teeth when I smile at them. I have no food in my teeth (Well I hope not!!!) but it always happens (and hurts!). Anyone else get this with their babies?

Maybe they're trying to save you the trouble of flossing ! . Sleek, I think it's because teeth are shiny and they just like to peck. Mine like to peck a freckle on my lip. ouch !!

Ouch! Mine like to get the one on my arm. Made it bleed once. They are lucky they are cute and cuddly! lol
