Some for sure ended up as expected, but I sure am surprised at the variety and some of the weirdness going on here! My pharoah hen Razzle had a prolapse issue with a weird egg, I'll make a post with a photo tomorrow not sure what happened but I integrated the babies with my other adult hen and got some updated photos in the afternoon light! They're just a little smaller than the adult hen and 98% feathered.
Evangeline ended up staying entirely white, pink beak, legs and only color is when she inevitable gets a poop stuck to her. Eyes still shine red flash in certain lighting, but eyes are otherwise solid black.
I certainly thought these two were going to be simple rosette or pharoah underneath- nope! Dotty Parton has a mix of really reddish, dark and brown feathers, her head has the same tight black/brown patterning as Osiris (below). Sparta had a serious glow up this last week, with those frosted tips fully coming in and the white "barring" on his rump spots, I am in love with this bird, bonus for the colored stripe that is on his nose & stripes down his beak! I will honestly be crushed if these end up both boys.
The pharoahs! I'm guessing King Tut is a male, he's incredibly red on the front! He looks fairly average pharoah in patterning (but is VERY red/orange, was the red/brown one as a chick) but he's got these tiny black flecks on his chest if you zoom in, is that mean some extra gene? Osiris looked straight up pharoah but decided to get all "calico-y" on me once he grew more adult feathers in! Is this a result of fee? I haven't had one like this before but I imagine it'll either be easy to sex, or very difficult lol. Has a tiny white neck "bib" too!
Scarlett ended up pretty much like I expected, a pretty tibetan/rosetta tuxedo! I am bummed to have lost the one tuxedo early on, and there the other dark tuxedo in the group is a runt who I think may not make it. I do think Scarlett's patterns are beautiful and I'm glad to have had one chicken end up like expected haha!
Poutine stole my heart the second I saw the grey fuzz, I just love a grey tuxedo. The light patterning is also just beautiful, I imagine genes are probably just some kind of grey + tuxedo?
Spotelo ended up looking just like his mom except for more red on the face/neck- guessing male?
