Why do they eat sawdust? When out working on projects, if there's sawdust from the task, they're peck, peck, pecking at it! It drives me crazy! It can't be good for them, but my brother says let em eat it, it'll reduce my feed cost! (jk)
 
Because when they reach a certain age, fiber is their friend...

I have no idea, other than to say that chickens can be dumb and sometimes they just do stuff like that.
