So every year around this time I do a full cleaning of the coop with fresh new bedding for my lovelies. But every year I’m always asking my self two question, 1 why did I have to go with the big coop, and 2 why do I do the deep litter method. Oh yeah because I love my chickens and want the best for them and our eggs. Today I started my coop clean out by scraping out all the old straw and poo ( it took me about 3 hours to finish that part). The whole time I was in there my black bantam hen was circling while I cleaned, she would come in for a few seconds and then decide she didn’t like my music and leave. She just started to get broody and want to sit, but because I haven’t put anything back down in there bedding wise, the poor girl is confused as to why there is nothing to sit on. She keeps running to the coop and then up to me ( I’m sitting on the swing while the coop floor airs out) and looking at me like lady are you going to put my bed back or do I have to do it for you. But this is why I do it for the eggs, the comfort, and happiness of my chickens. Also for silly moments like this with my crazy chickens.
