I was just curious because my baby chicks always fall asleep in my lap when I pick them up. I have some 1 to 2 week old Langshans, and one of them always snuggles into my armpit and falls asleep, and the other doesn't take long to follow. I also have a black-copper marin that is the same age and has a similar behavior. My 4 week old Americanas take a little longer, but will not leave my lap once they get comfortable. All of my babies run around and act normally when they're not in my lap, but why do they always fall sound asleep in my lap??

because they see you as 'moma' and are comfortable snuggling up to you. and get so comfortable they sleep. I would take it as a compliment, and enjoy it while it lasts

Thanks, and don't worry, I will!

I have a black copper Marin-Sex link or Black Copped Marin Astrolorpe cross who only falls asleep when wrapped in paper towel or a knitted piece of yarn and covered with another on my lap
