I got some quail chicks from craglist and some started to die each day they had water feed and a heat lamp. So does anyone know what could have been the cause of then dying?

What exactly are you feeding them and how warm is it in the brooder? The wrong feed (low protein) can kill fast-growing quail, and the heat should be set so that there are warm and cool sides (95F on the warm side is a good target). If feed and heat are good, it might be disease. Sorry you're having trouble.

We had 18 % protein first but changed it up to 30% it was around 95F

Thanks that was probably the cause of some during I have 2 out of 5 and they are doing great now

Glad the rest are ok. Yeah, I have quail (5 in an aviary, 9 more in the brooder). Is this your first time raising them?

edit: it's also good you switched feed, that could have been all it took

Good luck, it's a lot of fun watching little chicks grow up. Remember to take pictures if you can!
