why do people have a guinea hen in there flock??

I'm on you-tube a lot looking at chicken stuff and i always see a guinea hen in the back ground. why is this? should i get one?

No, you should not get one. Guineas are a flock bird and do best in large groups of guineas. There are exceptions but it is not a good idea to get one. The recommended number of guineas for a flock is 10 or more.

They are mostly kept around for tick and other insect control.
